Greater than Gold

Silky silver, shimmering slight,
Sulks, seeing stupendous starlight.
Brilliant bronze, blazing bright,
Bows before brown bark’s bite.

Gold, glorious greed glittering,
Grows grey ‘gainst green grass glistening.
Fittest funds, fickle fortune flashing,
Fall ‘fore flowery fields flourishing.

Creation’s congenial craft,
Companions’ comforting care;
Can coin-filled castles compare?
Women, why woefully want worldly wealth
Without wisdom, without whimsical wonder?
Men, make more magnificent memories;
Money may mean missing merriment.
